Don E. Haase

Don E. Haase, 86, of Scottsbluff and formerly of Kimball, died at the Western Nebraska Veterans Home in Scottsbluff on Sunday, June 14, 2015.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, at the Kimball Cemetery with Pastor Mel Daves officiating. Cremation has taken place and friends may stop at the Cantrell Funeral Home on Friday from 1-5 p.m. to sign Don's register book and leave condolences for the family.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers or memorial donations, your presence be your gift. The services for Don have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball.

Donald Edward Haase was born in Kimball on May 25, 1929, the son of Edward and Francis (Mewis) Haase. He was raised and attended school in Kimball. He served in the U.S. Air Force from September of 1950 until October of 1953.

He was married to Donna Herboldsheimer on April 22, 1956. Don worked many jobs throughout his life, he farmed and ranched west of Kimball until 1979. He then moved to Casper and worked for the college. While he was in Kimball, Don worked for the ASCS Office measuring grain in different storage bins throughout the area. He was an honorary volunteer fireman and he loved to cook and feed people and enjoyed the time spent with family and friends processing meat. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Survivors include his daughter, DeeDee (Ron) Wall of Kimball; son, Doug Haase of Kimball; daughter, Darla Evertson of Kimball; and son, Dalan (Lana) Haase of Longmont, Colo .; grandchildren, Justin Gunderson, Laura (Kurt) Baker, Rashelle Soper and Dalton and Sophie Haase.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Danna Dee.
