Bowler of the year

Nate Entingh sits with his son, Alaska. He was named this year's bowler of the year. A night to remember for Nate Entingh: after a rough start in his first game, Nate came on strong with a 245 game (a personal high) and finished the 3-game-series with a 204. Nate's 715 handicap series was the top score for the evening's competition and honored him with the Bowler of the Year title. Wayne Pile, with a 671 (221,197,175), claimed second place and the second-high scratch series (593). Les Reemts (last year's winner) bowled three above-average games to place third with a 662 (178,184,213). Fourth place went to James Vrtatko's 657 (152,176,212). Kelly Garrett had the high scratch series for the night with a 611. But with a high average (195) comes a low handicap (12). Kelly's handicap series was 647 (239,180,192) and ranked fifth. Sixth place went to Lynn Anthony, 631 (179,160,208). Nan Garrett, 625; and Heather Entingh, 623; placed seventh and eighth respectively. Mitch, Dale, Paul and Jeni, all "averaged out." Mitch Brown, 614 (158,179,187) placed ninth. Dale Aurich, 612 (182,172,168), tenth; Paul Anderson, 607 (126,161,167), eleventh; and Jeni Gompert, 606 (143,159,136), twelfth. The finale for the 2014-15 bowling season took place on April 24 at 7 p.m. All year long, league bowlers had competed in the Bowler of the Months to qualify for the year-end event. Twenty-seven bowlers competed in the three-game handicap competition at Kim Bowl.
