Ferguson tabbed October Student of the Month

Congratulations to Kimball High School's October Student of the Month, Michael Ferguson.

Michael has been very active during his time at Kimball Public Schools. At this point in time, Michael has participated for four years in football, three years in basketball, and three years in golf. He plans on participating in basketball and golf again during his senior year. Michael has also been involved in one act all four years (three years as an actor and stage manager this year). Michael has been an active member of FFA, winning district speech contests his freshman and sophomore years where he received a silver medal his freshman year and a gold medal and fifth place finish his sophomore year. During his junior year, Michael served as the chapter treasurer and is currently serving as the chapter president. Michael plans on running for a state FFA office this spring. He was also elected as the senior class vice president and has been an active member of Interact Club where he currently serves as the club treasurer. Michael has played trumpet since 6th grade and is a member of both band and jazz band.

Next year, Michael will attend the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He has already been accepted and plans to major in agriculture. After Michael receives his degree at the university, his dream is to return to Kimball and begin farming. Michael also hopes to one day coach basketball and football.

Michael will receive a $25 gift certificate from the Lion's Club and is now eligible for a $500 Lion's Club Student of the Month Scholarship to be presented yearly to one of the "making a difference" winners.

We are very proud to have Michael Ferguson as a student at Kimball Junior/Senior High School and one who is "making a difference."
