Born January 9, 1942 to Pauline (Brown) Papple and Frederick William Papple in West Branch. Effie was the youngest of 14 children. Effie accepted Jesus as her Saviour at a young age and she showed His love with her life. A Celebration of Life memorial service for Effie was held Tuesday, April 8th at 10:30 AM at Monument Bible Church, 4124 Ave I in Scottsbluff, with Pastor Jake Roberts officiating. She determined at a young age that she was never going to be grumpy or in a bad mood, she just didn't see a reason for it. Everybody that knew Effie, knew that she was shy but had a smile and a happy face for everyone. She attended school in Sterling and West Branch, MI.

Effie married Harold Frederick Aikens on October 12, 1960. They celebrated the births of 4 children. Harold and Effie moved to Kimball in 1972 and she was employed at George Risk Industries for 7 years.

Effie moved to Mitchell in 1988 where she cherished her children and grandchildren. She helped prepare meals at the Community Christian School for several years where her grandchildren attended.

Effie enjoyed reading a good book, knitting and dangling a worm whenever she could. She was privileged and honored to help Fred raise his daughter, Tiffani. She loved cooking lunch for a passle of boys while Jordan and Brandan were in high school in Mitchell.
