Though the total amount of taxes requested has changed, those fluctuations are due to property valuations as opposed to the district’s tax request. The board set their levy at $1.04 for the fourth consecutive year, according to board president Lynn Vogel. “We have tried to be consistent with that (tax request),” Superintendent Marshall Lewis said. In 2014-15 that levy request totaled $555 million for the district, the follo...

So many fun events this weekend, I am excited to be able to enjoy the whole weekend and most of all the events this year. It seems like every other year we have something else going at least one of the days and we aren’t able to spend as much time in town. There are so many fun activities on tap for this weekend, you can bet there won’t be any down time. This years new event is Mud Volleyball at the Fair Grounds, how fun! No surprise I got a team together and we are all super excited to see how it turns out, but the closer it gets to...

  • Junior High program suffers lack of numbers

    Tom Southard|Sep 21, 2017

Kimball has very limited athletes this year for Jr. high football, when we are all ready to go we have 20 kids out. We got all the boys out in the jr. high with the exception of 7 or 8. Just not a lot of boys in these 7th and 8th grade classes. This year we will combine to make one team and only get one game with our lack of numbers. We had our first game Sept. 5 at home against Hemingford. This was played as a 8 /11 man game. When Kimball had the ball we played 11 man and when Hemingford had the ball it was 8. It is fun to play a little 8 man...

This came with very good competition. “Overall the girls did very well, we had two girls achieve their personal best. The beds that are in front of their home, and around the side, are alive with vibrant fall colors from perennials such as Kim's favorite, chrysanthemums. The mulched beds are also home to potted plants, ornamental grasses and colorful bushes. The time and love the couple have...
