The Kimball Public School Board is in the hiring process of finding a new school nurse after the board approved Emily Stull’s resignation last Monday night, Aug., 14, during their regular meeting. For the coming school year, Kimball Public Schools will serve locally raised beef, according to the report by Danessa Terrill, Food Service Director for the district. The Banner County School Board will accept bids for a new or slightly used 14 passenger bus, this was one decision made when the board met on Monday, August 14, 2017. While the County Commissioners are still wrapping up budget season, they met last Tues., Aug. 15. Dave Hottell, County Highway Superintendent joined the meeting to talk briefly about hauling gravel and he said that right now the roads have so much moisture on them that it is slowing everything down. “It seems like this happens every year, but in a different part of the county each time,” Hottell added. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Kimball with pastor Carla Gunn officiating. Still a lot of golf being played in our area and it is going to get even busier now that the Kimball High girls opened up their season this past Tuesday and have a total of four tournaments in August alone. Today, Thursday, the Kimball High ladies are at Bayard and next Tuesday, August 29, they will host their own tournament. August 31, they go to the Creek Valley Tournament. The Kimball Longhorn football team returns from a disappointing 1-8 season with high hopes and a new coach, Ben Aarestad, who brings with him a 17-23 career record.
