From gear heads to cowboys, everyone is meeting in Potter this weekend and events begin tonight, Thursday, June 22, with the Potter Melodrama "The Stinky Feet Gang," a hilarious wild west show, at the Legion Hall in Potter beginning 7 p.m. The show will go on again at the same time Friday night and the finale will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Potter residents see a new arena in the area. Callen and Whitney Whartman began building the arena on their land just east of Potter in 2015. Though the arena is ready to use, the Whartmans are currently still adding improvements. I love wood. There are no two pieces of wood alike – no twins. I have had many dreams fulfilled in my life and a few dreams are still waiting in the future. The noted Husker football kicker Drew Brown, who will be doing the kicking for the Big Red in his final season this fall. Things are starting to come together for Kimball’s Legion Baseball team. The young ball players hosted Hershland last Tuesday night, June 12, and won the sole game 11-3. After getting off to a rough start this season Kimball was able to tighten up pitching and other issues they have been working hard on in practice. This win came as a total team win. The team of Heeg, Heeg and Heeg emerged as the champions of the 2017 Father’s Day Golf Tournament held this past weekend at the fabulous Four Winds Golf Course. It was Vince Heeg, Jr., Henry Heeg Sr. and Henry Heeg, Jr., scoring rounds of 61-59=120 to take top honors from the field of 33 three-person teams that enjoyed the weekend of golf and fellowship despite a very strong wind on the first day.
