    A Kimball family has been displaced from its home due to a house fire that occurred about 7:45 p.m. last Thursday. Homeowner Jay Thurin was outside at the time and he attempted to extinguish the blaze in its early stages with a garden hose and fire extinguishers, according to Kimball County Sheriff Harry Gillway.   • Despite continual rain, no flooding expected for Kimball, Banner counties

    Despite continual precipitation over the past month, officials say there is no immediate threat of flooding in Kimball and Banner counties. Williams, a former superintendent of Kimball Public Schools and 41-year resident, asked the board to reconsider the policy regarding termination of utility services for nonpayment.     The Kimball County Commissioners spent a lengthy amount of time discussing the best way to purchase an ambulance in a timely fashion at Tuesday’s regularly scheduled meeting. After a discussion on the topic lasting almost an hour, the commissioners voted 2-0 to suspend normal purchasing procedures in order to buy an ambulance.
