The Kimball High School will soon receive a facelift, in the form of new windows that will be installed in eight east and west classrooms this summer. Superintendent of Kimball Schools, Marshall Lewis, discussed the capital improvement project with the Kimball Board of Education at their regular meeting on Thursday, May 11. Kimball County residents are now able to get discount prescriptions, medical, vision and dental services through the Live Healthy: U.S. Counties Program. The program, offered through the National Association of Counties (NACo), is free to residents of NACo member counties such as Kimball, and everyone is accepted. The Kimball Public Library and the Friends of the Kimball Public Library, with funding from the Grace L. Olsen Memorial, are pleased to bring the Portable Planetarium to Kimball youth. “This is really neat and something that Grace would have approved,” Liesch said. The Kimball Boy's golf team captured the team title in winning the SPVA Conference championship in their latest conquest of an undefeated season to date. The Longhorns shot a solid round of 308 for the win with Perkins County runnerup with 324, followed by St. Pats with 330, Sutherland 379 and Hershey 386. An exciting week of local sports with Kimball qualifying 3 individuals for this week’s State Track Meet and with the Kimball high boy’s golf team winning the SPVA Conference Tournament and keeping their undefeated season alive. The Horns were off to District Golf at Cambridge this past Tuesday hoping for a repeat win in their defense of last year’s District championship.
