She attended Kimball Public Schools until her eighth grade year, at which point she began working full-time and later became an assistant manager at Total, now known as Kwik Stop, for three years.     Anthony Frederick "Tony" Day, 65, passed away April 5, 2018 in Billings, Mont., from complications of Alzheimers. Born July 26, 1952, in Kimball, Neb., he was one of four children of Richard and Nellie (Hoke) Day.     Thirty quail eggs, all in a row, inside Amy McManigal's incubator. McManigal and her sixth grade science class have been hatching eggs throughout the school year, including chicken eggs, guinea eggs and now the tiny Bobwhite quail eggs.     Mitchell captured both divisions of the 2018 Western Trails Conference Track and Field Meet held at Morrill this past week. Bridgeport was runner-up in both divisions and Bayard finished 3rd in both classes. The Lady Tigers amassed 186 points to capture the girl's division, followed by Bridgeport with 103, Bayard 71, KIMBALL 48.66, Hemingford 41, Gordon-Rushville 40 and Morrill 36.33.     The Kimball High Boy's Golf Team got the season underway with two wins this past week capturing the team titles at Mitchell with their team score of 323 and improving that score to 317 in winning the Bridgeport Tournament.     The Kimball girls captured the team title of the Potter-Dix Junior High Track Invite held at the Kimball site this past week, scoring 152 points to hold off Burns, who finished just a few points back with 147. Pine Bluffs had 69, Leyton 44, Morrill 17, Minatare 17, Potter-Dix 16 and Banner County 3.     The weather is still playing havoc with the area sports scheduling, but area school administrators have been moving events around and trying to get at least some of them held. I am to the point of wondering if it is even worth the time of listing events, as there is a good chance they will be moved.
