    The Kimbots are headed to state. The Kimball Robotics Club, also known as the Kimbots, will compete in the First Lego League State Championships Saturday at the Strategic Air and Space Museum in Ashland. They are one of 45 teams throughout the state to qualify, and did so at a meet earlier this year in Sidney.     Law enforcement officials made nine arrests last Wednesday on drug charges. The Western Nebraska Intelligence and Narcotics Group (WING), along with the Kimball County Sheriff’s Office, Kimball Police Department, Sidney Police Department, Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State Patrol, made the arrests in Kimball and Cheyenne counties.     The Kimball County commissioners heard a proposal about a phone system at Tuesday’s regularly scheduled meeting. The assessor, district clerk, and sheriff’s offices requested sidecar telephones. These phones are programmable so that they allow a better overall view of who is currently on the phone and whose lines are available. These come in handy when transferring calls, as well as preventing unnecessary interruptions.     At least two people were injured in a one-vehicle accident Friday night near Bushnell. A truck hauling hay left Hwy. 30 at the curve near the town. One person was lifeflighted from the scene while another was transported to Kimball Health Services, said Carla Goranson, director of the Kimball County Ambulance Service.     The South Platte NRD board is full again following the appointment to fill the vacancy left by former Subdistrict 6 Director Tom Biggs, who retired at the end of 2014.     The Kimball boys ran up against a red hot Hemingford ball club this past week and came up on the short end of the stick losing 56-34 to the number 10 C-2 state ranked Bobcats.
