Fog sat in the cold crisp air as local residents and military veterans stood in the Kimball cemetery as the local VFW and Kimball Police Department honored veterans both present and past by raising 21 flags and giving a seven gun salute the morning of November 11. The City Council voted to transfer the Goodhand Theater over to the possession of Forward Kimball Industries at their meeting the night of November 5 in the City Council chambers. The Village of Bushnell may be headed for a recall election to take place early next year. On October 22, 2013, a recall affidavit put forth by Dwayne Brackeen, a resident of the Village of Bushnell, and accepted by Kimball County Clerk Cathy Sibal seeking the removal of Tim Nolting from the Board of Trustees for the Village of Bushnell. Alice Louise (Fondell) Baker was born in Dawson, Minnesota on December 1, 1924, the daughter of , Selma and Clarence Fondell. She was raised and attended school in Dawson and graduated from the Dawson High School in 1942. Alice continued her education at North Park Junior College in Chicago, IL and St. Cloud State College in St. Cloud, Minnesota. The 2013 Kimball High Football Team had some record breaking performances with two individuals writing their names into the school record books. It was a fruitful season for new head coach Nick Kuxhausen as he and his staff directed the Longhorns to a state playoff and a 4 win, 5 loss, overall season. The 2013 Kimball High volleyball season didn't play out like coach Vicki Mitchell and her girls were hoping, but the future certainly shows lots of promise! After a disappointing, first round loss in the sub-district tournament. Kimball saw their season end with a record of 12-13, but how close it was to being much better.
