FUSS, RUSSELL IN POLE POSITION FOR HORNS

It's on to the Leyton Invite on May 3 and District on May 9 for Kimball track and field following April 30's Kimball Twilight Invite and last week's Best of the West meet. Trevor Fuss set a new school record and personal record going 14 feet, 6 inches at Best of the West to secure first in the pole vault and Peter Russell went 13 feet, 6 inches, to earn second. Above, they enjoy their moment on the podium. Derek Russell threw a personal best of 137 feet, 11 inches, in the discus to come in fourth. He also threw 44 feet, 8 inches, in the shot put. Braxton Miller ran sixth in the 1,600 with a new personal best of 5:01. Addy Olson jumped 32 feet, 11 inches in the triple jump to earn third. She also cleared 4 feet, 10 inches, in the high jump to earn sixth. Rachel Berger cleared 8 feet in the pole vault.
