MISSILE REBUILDS ON BANQUET MENU

The annual Kimball Banner Chamber of Commerce banquet will serve up a main course of economic promise this time around.

The banquet, next Monday, Jan. 14, at Kimball Event Center, features a presentation, “Preparing Your Business for the Missile Rebuilds.”

Chamber board member Rick Forepaugh told The Observer on Tuesday that the missile rebuilds are positive news for the community as it looks to emerge from challenging times and grow.

There are signs of hope: Kimball County’s November unemployment rate of 2.5 percent, the most recent figure announced, is lower than Nebraska’s 2.8 percent rate and the nation’s 3.7 percent rate.

Guest speaker Dale Steenberger of the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce will provide the missile rebuild presentation.

Banquet festivities begin at 5 p.m. at the event center, 615. E. 3rd St.

Here’s the lineup: cocktails, 5-5:30 p.m .; dinner, 5:30-6 p.m .; presentation, 6-6:30 p.m., networking, 6:30-8 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for chamber members and $15 for nonmembers.

More ticket details are available at 308-235-3782, [email protected] or the chamber office at 122 S. Chestnut St. in Kimball.
