KCSO deputy completes training, now certified

Skills week was a favorite, including driving and fighting

There’s a new sheriff in town, or rather, a new Certified Deputy Investigator.

Anthony Osborn began working for the Kimball Sheriff’s Department in August of 2015. He attended the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center in Grand Island from March 28 through July 15.

According to Osborn, his class is deemed one of the largest on record, with a beginning number of 63 students and 55 graduating officers.

The class subjects included Criminal Law, Traffic, Constitution Law, Accident Investigations and Ethics, just to name a few.

Osborn stated that he enjoyed most of his studies, but some “not so much”, given the fact that there were days that classes went on for a total of ten hours.

“I enjoyed ‘skills weeks’ the most,” he said, “which includes driving, shooting and fighting. Law was also interesting.”

Osborn is pleased to begin his new career with the Sheriff’s Department.

“This is a good start,” he said. “I’m looking forward to helping out the community as much as I can.” Osborn added that he enjoys residing in and serving the community of Kimball and that he sees himself and his family here for many years to come.
