Lady Coyotes top Creek Valley, Paxton; improve to 4-0

The Potter-Dix girls basketball team improved to 4-0 on the season with wins against Creek Valley and Paxton last week. The Lady Coyotes won at Creek Valley, 51-35, on Friday and defeated Paxton on Saturday, 54-25.

After Tuesday’s game against Leyton, the Lady Coyotes are back in action Friday at Caliche (Colo.).

Potter-Dix 51, Creek Valley 35

The Lady Coyotes jumped out to an early lead and went on to defeat Creek Valley, 51-35, on Friday. The Lady Coyotes took a 17-8 first quarter advantage and led 29-16 at halftime.

Potter-Dix used a balanced scoring effort in the win. Audrey Juelfs and Alexus Rozelle scored 12 points each, while Savannah Shaw added 10 points. Dawson Sharman chipped in with nine points and Anna McLaughlin scored seven.

McLaughlin led the way with 10 rebounds and Rozelle had nine, while Juelfs had a team-high seven assists and Sharman added six.

Juelfs scored 21 points and Potter-Dix jumped out to a big first quarter lead in Saturday’s 54-25 win against Paxton.

The Lady Coyotes held a 24-6 advantage at the end of the first quarter and led 32-7 at halftime. They outscored Paxton 22-18 in the second half.

Juelfs led the way with 21 points, and also led the team with nine assists and eight steals. She also had six rebounds. Rozelle added 10 points in the win and also led the team with eight rebounds.
