Kimball downs Bridgeport in four sets

The Lady Longhorn Volleyball Team opened the season at Bridgeport this past Thursday evening and brought home a marathon four set victory. Set scores saw Kimball prevail 25-15, 30-32, 32-30, 25-14. Coach Vicki Mitchell said "I was most proud of our girls for never giving up and for keeping the good attitude even when we got behind. This group is working so well together". Coach Mitchell also said she could not single out any individuals but credited the win as a complete team win.

Danika Daum led the scoring with 13 points with 2 ace serves on 25 serve attempts, had 18 kills, 18 set assists, 15 digs and 2 blocks. Madison Biesecker finished with 12 points, 2 ace serves, was 100% serving, had 12 kills, 19 set assists, and 21 digs. Hannah Biesecker had 9 points, 13 digs. Madie Snyder tallied 8 points with 1 ace, 4 kills, 14 digs. Raelynn Hinton 6 points 2 ace serves, 3 kills, 18 digs. Ali Hunsaker led the team in digs with 27.

The Kimball ladies are right back to Bridgeport this past Tuesday evening for a triangular involving Garden County with only varsity matches to be played. Tonight (Thursday) Kimball is on the home court hosting Potter-Dix and Mitchell for varsity and JV matches with play beginning at 5 p.m., Saturday they are at the Gordon Tournament, and next Tuesday (Sept. 16) they go Hemingford for a triangular with Gordon/Rushville as the third school.
